Virus writers, spammers, and spyware authors are groups of people united by one goal--- to spread evil. I hate all of them actually. Why? Because they make my Internet connection slow that it makes surfing the web as boring as ever.
The disaster brought by these people is wheels within wheels. What pisses me off most is the fact that even the firewall security systems that we buy can't protect us from these growing threats. Zonet Cable/DSL Router is cheap, but I ain't gonna risk my neck using it. The product claims that it can provide a stateful packet inspection to eliminate malicious files that clog the system's hard drive. It says that it will also act as a guard dog that sits between the Internet and the gateway to block illegal packets from penetrating the system. If anything in the product manual was true, I'll eat dung. But I don't want to eat dung, so I'll assume people who made these stuff are twisted, lying, assholes!
But hold your horses dung-brains, I already have a plan on how to stop these people in their evil, profit-oriented pursuits. If we all stop using computers, we don't need to worry about viruses and spyware. There'll be no stupid Zonet router either. Whoa, it's a stupefying, great idea!

For the umpteenth time, I put my fingers to work on the keyboard so as to wearily answer questions, from some moronic groups, about the need for a firewall security system in their PCs. Not all computer users have brains that function normally. We have many scumbags out there who use their technical knowledge in wreaking havoc and distress to other networks. Now, we can't blame these foul, vile, and twisted guys because their brains are so rotten that they can't think of anything worthwhile to do with their time. The only thing that we can do is to prevent them from accessing our networks and routers.
Our router is the thing responsible for everything that exists in the Internet. It sends the e-mails, files, pictures, and attachments to the recipient's address. It ensures that the packet reaches its destination and not wander around someone else's mail. This is the reason why so many hackers, spyware authors, identity thieves, and virus writers are very interested in accessing your router to get all the important information about the user including the IP addresses of important people stored in his system. Thus, there is need for a software or hardware firewall that can provide stateful packet filtering and can block unwanted programs from penetrating your system and accessing the Internet.

Spyware authors, spammers, hackers, and virus writers are the few people who are blessed with cow dung for brains. And I wonder how they manage to create such nasty bugs and worms that can weaken even the most protected computer in the world. Is it just because their brain stinks or is it because they have morphed to become the most powerful villain and the computer industry's greatest fear?
So who should we call when these computer abusers and their monsters attack? We don't have Justice League or even The PowerPuff Girls in the virtual world to save us from these pandemonium filled with spyware and viruses. And even some expensive security tools can't provide the protection that they've listed in their product specs. Good thing NETGEAR 54Mbps DG834G Firewall Router spins a different story when it comes to computer protection. With its fast-acting spyware and virus-blocking activity, illegal programs are hindered from entering the system. I'm not sure if it scans the whole system for deep-seated spyware in the hard drive, but who cares, I've used this product several times and it still hasn't failed to satisfy me. Hell, now I can do peer-to-peer file sharing and non-stop Internet surfing without the worry of evil eyes watching my every step in the web.

The services of firewall security systems have long been employed in most huge companies to protect the entire system against determined computer abusers. But the disastrous deluge of Internet-borne diseases like malware, adware, hijacker, spam, viruses, and spyware is increasing tremendously. This means that even home users should get some protection so that they won't be swept away by the flood of computer bugs and worms.
NAT stands for Network Address Translation, and it is a Web standard that allows the local area network (LAN) to use different sets of IP addresses for internal and external traffic. Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Firewall Router is a NAT firewall that provides superior firewall protection by hiding your IP addresses so that hackers, spammers, virus writers, and spyware authors won't be able to access nor enter your network.
It protects your internal network while cleaning your system's hard drive for deep-seated spyware and viruses that slow down your connection. My friend, who is also a networking expert, told me that it's a must for users to change their router password every month to lessen the risks of having insiders and outsiders trying to connect to your system and access valuable files.

A new personal computer despite its beauty is wholly unsafe from the wide collection of Web-related assaults. If you surf the Internet with the simple idea of visiting websites and checking e-mails, you are exposing yourself to identity theft, file loss, and fraudulent attacks. Aside from that, your computer can be the next breeding ground of Trojan horses, viruses, and spyware.
Computer security has always been mandatory because living in an Internet-driven planet is always an issue of survival.
Enterasys XSR Security Router 3020 is a forceful router that is very easy-to-use and install. Although a need for a networking administrator assistance is necessary for installing products such as this, attaching it to your computer is surprisingly a no-brainer. It helps filter your computer from malicious programs, unwanted traffic, and sneaky files that attempt to reside in your system's hardware.
Safeguarding your machines doesn't only simply entail installing firewall security systems, antivirus software, or spyware blockers. It also incorporates the tasks of ensuring that these security tools are configured properly, regularly updated, and certified by a networking expert. Thankfully, all of these products are available in affordable prices and sometimes they're for free. So. there's no reason for you to be namby-pamby about making sure that you and your machine's privacy are protected.

I've featured several software and hardware firewall products in this blog. Also, I've included some tips about the proper use of firewall security systems. Perhaps, you already have the big picture of how important computer security is. It goes without saying that the safety of the files is also of significance. But like what I've been saying, having security gadgets installed doesn't necessarily mean that your machines are protected from beleaguering attacks of hackers, spyware, malware, adware, and viruses.
The router as an apparatus that forwards data from a network to another needs a certain amount of protection just like your whole computer system. Since it serves somehow as the controller of the traffic in your network, preventing it from being destroyed by hackers and viruses is among the safest way to ensure that the files stored in your system will not be located by those who want to grab hold of them. Cisco Router Firewall Security by Richard Deal answers all the queries you have in mind about perimeter router security. It gives an in-depth discussion about the pros and cons of all major security features to aid you in understanding when they must be employed. It also has examples of critical issues and security pitfalls. Lastly, it is a part of Cisco Press' Networking Technology Series. The said company furnishes important facts for establishing effective networks.

As a computer user I am not very fond of computer viruses, bugs, worms, and hacking attacks. Besides, who wants to have fun with these disastrous things around? In the old days when I was asked if I had been a victim of one or two computer abusers, I usually say no, because I'm literally not aware of any. But it's a good thing that my parents forced me to watch news during rare evenings when I'm home. Also my friends, wherever they are, kept sending me boxes and parcels of technology magazines.
With these media outlets I instantly realized that I already am a victim of cyber criminals a million times that I can no longer remember the first one. However, it's not really serious like ID theft crime or severe damage to my computer network. I don't think I'm lucky enough because I haven't suffered from an almost fatal cyber attack which I doubt will happen to me unless I have a heart ailment that I'm not aware of. But then again, a hacking and virus writing is an assault or an action by nonsense criminals which should be punishable by law.
With these things happening around, perhaps all of us should be on our guard by acquiring more knowledge as we can regarding digital criminals and the right tools to use like firewall products. It wouldn't hurt if we visit our rusting home library for computer books, or take a tour on city bookstores once in a while to buy the latest copy of tech mags that contains guidelines for computer security and product reviews. You can grab a copy of PC World magazine which I believe is the best magazine that deals on computers and gadgets. If you want you can fill out a subscription form in their web site for a monthly dose of heavyweight protection information.

Safe and protected internet surfing is the rule of thumb these days. Malicious emails and downloads can contain spams, viruses, and other computer bugs which can wreak havoc to your system. The unaware user is left with no protection unless he installs a firewall in his system. Firewalls can protect your PC against these and other security attacks.
One way of doing so is to use a router. Routers can either be hardware or wireless routers. Hardware routers work better for home networks that are connected with the Internet. The good thing about these routers is that they give multiple computers the firewall protection it needs. It makes use of more than a single network port to fuse the computers together. While the downside is that it can clutter your work space because of the wires.
Unlike a hardware router, the wireless router doesn't have any wires. You can connect with your computer and other peripherals without the need for wires. Hence, it creates no clutter. It's also the choice for connecting laptops to the Internet. Its downside is wireless routers need an adapter to work, that's additional equipment that you have to buy.

The protection that every business and personal users can place in their computers is getting more and more updated. Just in the past few months, security providers launch new products that computer addicts and their vulnerable machines can feast on. These new tools has added features in them that does not exist on your old and trusted firewall security system that you bought three months ago.
But of course, cutting edge devices doesn't come in prices that matches the price of roast beef sandwiches. Due to the new features, and the demand for security prices, there would be some computer companies who will take advantage of the chaotic situation by stabbing consumers with highly price products. Since concerned users want the best for their beloved PCs, they have no recourse but to purchase the tool even if the amount is tantamount to a month's budget for food.
I am really amazed and at the same time exasperated with the way the metallic brains of the software developers and computer company scions worked. Whenever they are introducing new products to the gullible public, they blatantly say that such tools are the toughest against hackers, viruses and spyware. But sooner than we think, they are going to launch another product that is greater and tougher than the first one which will help combat computer crimes. Blimey, these guys do know how to place consumers in a fast and dizzying roller coaster ride of the protection carnival. Whenever, these device makers introduce new tools and like pathetic politicians they repeat the same old promises over and over again, I get a headache.

Computers connected in networks are comparable to many individuals talking simultaneously on telephone lines. To complicate the scenario, these individuals are also speaking in different languages. There is an obvious need to organize these calls.
In computer networks, modems act as translators and routers act as traffic managers and gate keepers. Routers logically calculate the network traffic and direct the flow of data. Routers may also be configured as filters or firewalls that may analyze and control the flow of incoming and outgoing data.

Routers are used to connect two networks across other more networks, enabling switched or dedicated lines to get access to remote sites. If routers are hacked or configured wrongly, how is this going to affect the user access to the network?
Obviously, chaos will occur. It happened to Microsoft some five years ago. The only way the mistake has been corrected was when the technicians fixed it in a matter of 22 hours. If this wasn't remedied, then all access to MS's networks will be denied. Servers aren't the only ones vulnerable to attacks. Router security is also a prerequisite for secure network connections.

It's funny how technology scares the technophile and makes paranoids of us. A friend of mine has trouble comprehending how his Zone Alarm (currently one of the top firewall security manufacturer in the world) couldn't give him peace of mind. The internet hardly fazes him. What he's bothered about is the possibility that even on an already super-secure network, hackers can still infiltrate the system because packet digestion is not enough.
So I offer a question: Is your privacy an all-or-nothing affair? Perhaps such paranoia is insubstantial, since in many websites where people shop, trade, and store personal information, data is encrypted. The most that you can do to avoid hackers is to be selective on the information shared.

Routers are devices attached or integrated into a modem which serve as digital traffic controllers.
Routers make logical analog calculations so as to direct network traffics. Every time you download or upload or you simply browse the Internet, routers immediately make calculations on the best route your computer connection can take to avoid jamming or bottleneck effect of access which slowdown computer data process. Routers should also be equipped with security software or firewall to insure network privacy and prevent intrusions.

Router is a device used for connecting two unique networks and acts as a default gateway.
Router acts as gateway to the entire network and every subnet therefore in turn has one default gateway, it becomes very critical to actively keep our Router secured.
To keep the router secured one should try to close down all the default IP services not required that run preliminary on routers by default.
Password security is another very important factor to keep the router secured.
Secondly AAA authentication should be enabled in order to access who-all are logged on and at what time stamps.
Remote Management of Routers is also a big threat as many users manage their routers remotely from home or office and at times this is done over the Internet. Any unencrypted remote access without VPN carries some risk, but access over a public network such as the Internet is especially dangerous. All remote tools like SNMP, HTTP, Telnet on regular ports cannot be allowed for direct access.
Router can be considered a machine and also a software that acts as a doorway to grant the permission no matter what kind of operating system and the protocol the user is using to access the easily available networking resources.
The installation of router involve certain steps like: connect the router to the available local area network wiring, connect the router to the telephone line through which the data can be send at a higher speed, connect the router to the available power supply resource, supply power to the router, connect the computer system that is being configured according to the router and be sure that the router is placed at a high level and don’t forget to validate the fitting of the router to your system.
Routers restrict the unauthorized traffic to enhance the networking speed, increase the security level, and reduce the expenses to be made on the purchasing of the hardware in future. Router also reduced the complications and maintenance involved with a trouble-free working of the networking systems.
The Routers are considered to be the backbone on the Internet connection presented in the large organizations, since routers are responsible for the internal networking connections and their safety.
A router is placed generally where the two network connection meets known as the gateway.
There are mainly two types of routers: Static router and Dynamic routers. In the static routers the networking system manager defines a particular route to the router, which is generally of a short length. Static routers are generally used for the networking system that exists for a shorter distance, and it has got its limitations. Static routers are not that proficient.
With the dynamic routing on the other hand the networking system overseer allow the router to delineate its own path for the transfer of the particular data. In dynamic routing the router by themselves choose the most efficient and effective path for the relocation of the information, in this way it saves time as well as cost.
The dynamic routing is more popular in comparison to static routing – a self-engineer!
A router is a structure accountable for making an outcome to which networking path from the “accessible” one should the information be permitted to pursue. To achieve this target router make use of the routing protocol to expand the information about the available networking conditions, and its judgment to pick the superlative route on the basis of the numerous criteria that are available and they are known as routing metrics.
Routers examine the networking address that is being made available to them and due to this they have to do more handling and prove to be more costly as compare to bridges and switch. Routers occupy the networking layer and in disparity to this bridge and switches occupy the data layer of the protocol.
The most essential router security constituents are: denying a direct-access to the router, protection of the operation system, precaution while configuring the system according to router
The majority of routers are dedicated to the computer-based optimization for their communication purpose; however the routers can perform to the best of their ability if the router-software is added to the server.
Router is an equipment that establishes its subsequent network destination to which the information has to be forwarded.
Depending upon the networking conditions the router decides to which network system the information needs to be send. The Router is associated with two networks at the same time. The Route table that is being created by the routers helps them to decide not only the best network but also the best route for the given data.
The messages or the data that are being broadcast on a particular route by the routers is done by the routable protocols like IP or IPX. There are Routers that ropes more than one protocol for the communication purpose they are known as multiple protocol routers, and they are used to control the networking traffic existing between the organizations. The information or the data that doesn’t make use of the routable protocol are not able to be routed with the help of routers but can be routed with the help of bridges.
A Router is a network apparatus that frontward data from one network system to another. Based on the information that is being provided to the routers about the other networking system routers read each incoming data and fix on how to promote it.
The way in which the router frontward the data can be firmed by grouping the address of the sender and the receiver network system and in addition to this the present Internet traffic situation.
Routers are used to split the private networks into diminutive networking system, so as to equilibrium the traffic within the groups that are using the networking system and to sort the Internet traffic for safety measures. They are also used for the networking system between the offices existing at the far ends, and also it allows Internet access to the ISP.
The Protection of the routers is very important, many routers are making use of the various security measures but this is hindering their performance-speed-level.
